Total success in Texas

We are back from the SXSW with a victory under our belt and a very good feeling for the future

After a weekend full of competition in Texas, it is time to review the results obtained, make the most of all the experience acquired over the past few days and continue to improve for future competitions.

As you know, on the 16th and 17th of March, the competitions organised in conjunction with SXSW Gaming 2018 and Next Generation Esports were held in Austin (Texas) under the name of the Super Magical Cup ‘Kings of the Hill’ for professional teams, and the ‘Open Play’ where anyone attending the event could participate.

Kings of the Hill

First of all, let’s talk about ‘Kings of the Hill’, the first competition that took place in the SXSW where we participated with Adrián Piedra, ColtonW83 and DiegoB against teams like Nova eSports, Tribe Gaming, Team Liquid or Immortals.

The tournament had a 3v3 king of the hill format where the team that defeated the most times an entire squad would win, we managed to eliminate nine players and ended up placing fourth feeling good about our performance.

DiegoB, Colton, Adrián Piedra and MadRaider in the SXSW.

Open Play

On Saturday, the 17th of March, the Super Magical Cup ‘Open Play’ was held, an individual tournament where anyone attending the SXSW event could participate and vie for the $20,000 prize pool competing against some of the world’s best players.

Two of our players, Adrián Piedra and ColtonW83 placed in the top 16 after very close games while DiegoB did the most difficult thing, sneaking into the grand final and winning the Open Play championship, becoming one of the best players on the planet.

DiegoB’s journey was not an easy one, he had to face the likes of B-Rad, Surgical Goblin, Trainer Chris or the tournament’s revelation Asuchini in the final rounds. We are very happy with all our results and we are more than sure that this is just the beginning, we would like to thank all of you for your daily support.

Cheers!
